![]() ![]() Thanks again for any and all assistance (and patience).ĭuring boot I see the light come on briefly on the CDROM, then one of the no drives detected errors happens. So what do you all think I have done and how can rectify this. I changed the file name in the config.sys to reflect the new driver SBIDE.SYS. If I try FDISK I get "No fixed disks present." I get the "Invalid drive specification" error. When I boot from the bootdisk I get the following info:Ĭreative CD-ROM Device Driver Version 1.21Īnd I cannot select C: as a drive. Not that that matters much since I can't even get that far. It's a Model CR-581-J which lead me to another driver. In notepad again go file new again and add the following line:Ĭhecked the CDROM. Download the creative driver SBIDE.SYS here:Ħ. (use the one from the computer you have running)ģ.Using notepad (or any text editor) create a new file (File new)Įnter the folliwng text in this new file:ĥ. That is, it is probably connected to your sound card and in order to work, you have to get the sound to work first.Ĭtload.exe may not be the proper file (it's not a driver-but will load the driver program)- however, you have to have windows loaded -which you can't.ġ.Create a Win95 Start Up disk which you did.Ģ.Copy the mscdex.exe file to your diskette. ![]() Since the Win 98 boot disk did not load your cdrom, the cdrom may be a propriety one. ![]()
